The Hybrid Method is one of the new technologies for production of iron ore concentrate by combination of dry and wet methods. In Hybrid method, the iron ore will be pre-concentrated in a dry system and therefore, major parts of tailing from beneficiation plant feed will be eliminated that causes significant reducing of variable plant costs such as water and ball media consumption per ton of produced concentrate which will be pretty important from economical aspects and required investment. Therefore, the required enterprise for tailing de-watering will also be decreased significantly.
In this method, by using of particular technology of dry beneficiation, in addition to decreasing energy consumption of comminution, the very useful and important conclusions from view point of concentration such as grade and recovery will be attained. In this technology, concentration possibility of wide range of different iron ore resources such as low grade extracted iron ore from mining operations, various type of hematite, magnetite and hematite-magnetite is possible. This technology also has the recycling possibility of fine hematite and magnetite particles which have been produced from beneficiation plants that in addition to have valuable economic benefits, it will help worthy to decrease the harmful environmental effects.
